Short biography

 

Henrik Horn, Professor of International Economics, is Senior Research Fellow at the Research Institute of Industrial Economics (IFN, Stockholm); Non Resident Scholar at Bruegel (Brussels); Research Fellow in the International Trade and Industrial Organization Programmes of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (London); Senior Programme Associate to the Global Economics Programme at Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (Florence), and member of the E15 Initiative expert group on New Industrial Policy and the World Trade System. He is also Associate Editor of Journal of World Trade. Horn became Doctor of Economics at Stockholm School of Economics in 1983, Associate Professor at the Institute for International Economic Studies, Stockholm University in 1986, where he was Professor of International Economics 1994- 2007., and Deputy Director 2000-2004. Horn has taught introductory to advanced graduate level courses at e.g Stockholm University, Stockholm School of Economics, the University of Michigan, Princeton University, the World Trade Institute (Bern), the Graduate Institute of International Studies (Geneva), and Faculty of Law at Université de Fribourg. He has served as Marknadsdomstolen (the Swedish supreme court for antitrust cases) Justice, and worked for 4 years in the Economic Research and Analysis Division of the WTO. 

 

Horn's research mainly focuses on issues at the intersection of Economics and Law, and in particular economic and legal aspects of international integration agreements, such as the WTO and the EU. He has also done research in a range of other areas, including trade theory and trade policy, industrial organization, and labor economics. He consults for governmental organizations and private parties on WTO dispute settlement, anti-trust, regulation and sports.
